Helpful Tips to avoid major complications

You should never cut corns, calluses or any other skin growth. Nor should you use commercial corn removers, iodine or any irritating antiseptics such as athlete's foot preparations. When you use these products, you are exposing your skin to harsh chemical. These chemicals have the potential to burn your skin, which can lead to a major infection such as gangrene resulting in possible amputation.
Ingrown nail medicines also contain acids too. As a preventative, cut your nails in a well lit room and preferably after you showered. Ensure when trimming your nails, you don't cut them too short. Consult your physician if you experience any issues.
Circulation in your feet is important! Keep your feet warm and dry in supportive shoes with ample amount of toe room. Try on new shoes for only a half hour a day, increasing one hour daily. Always use loose bed socks as oppose to circular garter socks with elastic tops.
Cleanse your feet daily with luke warm water and mild soap; ensure to get in between your toes and dry thoroughly, For dry or sensitive skin, gently apply moisturizing cream; for moist skin consider using deodorant, alcohol, and or talcum powder.
Elevate your feet if you are experience complications such as swelling. Help circulate your feet by lying on a bed with feet raised above hip level for 30 seconds. Than transition your body to sit up with feet hanging over the side of the bed for 60 seconds. Repeat this exercise at least several times a day.
